Rybinsky District (Russian: Ры́бинский райо́н) is an administrative[1] and municipal[6] district (raion), one of the seventeen in Yaroslavl Oblast, Russia. It is located in the northwest of the oblast. The area of the district is 3,150 square kilometers (1,220 sq mi).[2] Its administrative center is the city of Rybinsk (which is not administratively a part of the district).[1] Population: 28,153 (2010 Census);[3] 31,095 (2002 Census);[8] 36,796 (1989 Soviet census).[9] Pavel Batov was born in Filisovo, a village in the district.
