Pochinok (Russian: Почи́нок) is a town and the administrative center of Pochinkovsky District in Smolensk Oblast, Russia, located on the Khmara River (Dnieper's basin) 62 kilometers (39 mi) southeast of Smolensk, the administrative center of the oblast. Population: 8,776 (2010 Russian census);[3] 9,578 (2002 Census);[8] 10,753 (1989 Soviet census).[9]
