Nicorette is the brand name of a number of products for nicotine replacement therapy (NRT) that contain nicotine polacrilex. Developed in the late 1970s in Sweden by AB Leo [sv] in the form of a chewing gum, Nicorette was the first nicotine replacement product on the market.[4]

The product range encompasses chewing gum,[5][6][7][8] lozenges,[6][7] patches[8] of two kinds (transparent and non-transparent),[6] oral spray (Nicorette QuickMist),[9] inhalator,[6][8] sublingual tablets (Nicorette Microtab)[6] and nasal spray.[6][10]
Nicotine replacement products including gum and transdermal patches are on the World Health Organization's List of Essential Medicines.[11]
The brand name "Nicorette" comes from "nicotine" and Swedish: rette, "right way".[12]
