Munising (/ˈmjuːnəsɪŋ/ MEW-nə-sing) is a city in the Upper Peninsula of the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 1,986 at the 2020 census. It is the county seat of Alger County.[4] The city is partially surrounded by Munising Township, but the two are administered autonomously.
