Khasansky District (Russian: Хаса́нский райо́н) is an administrative[1] and municipal[7] district (raion), one of the twenty-two in Primorsky Krai, Russia. It is located in the southwest of the krai, wedged between the Tumen River and the Peter the Great Gulf, and shares a border with both China and North Korea. The area of the district is 4,130.0 square kilometers (1,594.6 sq mi).[3] Its administrative center is the urban locality (an urban-type settlement) of Slavyanka.[2] Population: 35,541 (2010 Russian census);[4] 37,459 (2002 Census);[9] 43,709 (1989 Soviet census).[10] The population of Slavyanka accounts for 39.5% of the district's total population.[4]
