Jovan Karamata

Jovan Karamata (Serbian Cyrillic: Јован Карамата; February 1, 1902 – August 14, 1967) was a Serbian mathematician. He is remembered for contributions to analysis, in particular, the Tauberian theory and the theory of slowly varying functions. Considered to be among the most influential Serbian mathematicians[1] of the 20th century, Karamata was one of the founders of the Mathematical Institute of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts, established in 1946.
