Hawija (Arabic: الحويجة, Al-Ḥawīja)[1] is the central town of Al-Hawija District in the Kirkuk Province of Iraq, 45 km (28 mi) west of Kirkuk, and north of Baghdad. The town has a population of about 480,000 inhabitants.
