Summary
This city map image could be re-created using vector graphics as an SVG file. This has several advantages; see Commons:Media for cleanup for more information. If an SVG form of this image is available, please upload it and afterwards replace this template with
{{vector version available|new image name}} .
It is recommended to name the SVG file “Constantinople imperial district.svg”—then the template Vector version available (or Vva) does not need the new image name parameter. |
DescriptionConstantinople imperial district.png |
English: The imperial district of Byzantine Constantinople, with the Great Palace and the approximate locations of its main buildings (based on literary descriptions), the Hippodrome, the Hagia Sophia and the surrounding structures. Surviving or excavated structures are in black, the conjectural outlines of structures in grey, and the shaded portion corresponds to the area occupied by the Sultanahmet Camii and other later structures. |
