Descendants of Christian IX of Denmark
Progeny of King Christian IX / From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
King Christian IX of Denmark (April 8, 1818 ā January 29, 1906) ruled Denmark from 1863 to 1906. Known as the "father-in-law of Europe",[1] he and his queen consort, Louise of Hesse-Kassel (September 7, 1817 ā September 29, 1898), became the ancestors of many members of European royalty. Some of these descendants would later rule as monarchs over several European countries, including Greece, Russia, and the United Kingdom. This article describes the children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren of Christian and Louise.
