Civitavecchia (pronounced [ˌtʃivitaˈvɛkkja]; meaning "ancient town") is a city and major sea port on the Tyrrhenian Sea 60 kilometres (37 miles) west-northwest of Rome. Its legal status is a comune (municipality) of Rome, Lazio.
