The Province of Yucatán (/ˌjʊkəˈtɑːn/ YUU-kə-TAHN; Spanish: Provincia de Yucatán; Spanish pronunciation: [pɾoˈβinsja ðe ʝukaˈtan]), or the Captaincy General, Governorate, Intendancy, or Kingdom of Yucatán, was a first order administrative subdivision of the Viceroyalty of New Spain in the Yucatán Peninsula.[1][n 1]
