Bekovo (Russian: Бе́ково) is an urban locality (a work settlement) and the administrative center of Bekovsky District of Penza Oblast, Russia, located to the extreme south of the oblast on the right bank of the Khopyor River, 154 kilometers (96 mi) from Penza. Population: 6,941 (2010 Russian census);[2] 6,891 (2002 Census);[6] 7,311 (1989 Soviet census).[7]
