Auchtermuchty (/ˌɔːxtərˈmʌxti/ listenⓘ; Scottish Gaelic: Uachdar Mucadaidh, 'upland of the pigs/boar')[2][3] is a town in Fife, Scotland. It is beside Pitlour Hill and 9 miles (14 km) north of Glenrothes.
