Absolute (philosophy)
Philosophical or theological concept / From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
In philosophy (often specifically metaphysics), the absolute,[lower-alpha 1] in most common usage, is a perfect, self-sufficient reality that depends upon nothing external to itself.[2] In theology, the term is also used to designate the supreme being.[3]
For the doctrine of absolute truth, see Universality (philosophy). For other uses, see Absolute (disambiguation).
