The Wizards were eliminated from postseason contention for the second straight season on April 2, 2023 with their loss to the New York Knicks and the Atlanta Hawks' win over the Dallas Mavericks.[1] The season also resulted in the firing of Tommy Sheppard as their general manager and team president of basketball operations.
