The 2016–2017 South Korean protests or the Candlelight Demonstrations, also known as the Candlelight Vigil (Korean: 촛불집회), were a series of protests against President Park Geun-hye that occurred throughout South Korea from November 2016 to March 2017. Protesters denounced the Park administration's 2016 political scandal and called for the resignation of Park Geun-hye.[1][2]
