Quchan (Persian: قوچان; pronounced [quˈtʃɑːn, ɢoˈtʃɒːn])[lower-alpha 1] is a city in the Central District of Quchan County, Razavi Khorasan province, Iran, serving as capital of both the county and the district.[4] It is approximately 97 km south of the border city of Ashgabat, capital city of neighboring Turkmenistan.
