He is best known for co-creating, producing, developing, directing, and co-writing the long-running television programs such as the Superman prequel television hit series Smallville, as well as Netflix's Addams Family-based 2022 spin-off television series, Wednesday. Alongside his writing or producing partner Alfred Gough, Millar also co-created programs like AMC's wuxia-influenced TV series Into the Badlands and MTV's fantasy television series The Shannara Chronicles.
Millar also co-wrote films like Shanghai Noon (as well as its sequel, Shanghai Knights) and Spider-Man 2.
Millar and Gough worked since they met at USC School of Cinematic Arts.
