Michael Omi (born 1951)[1] is an American sociologist, writer, scholar, and educator. Omi has served on the faculty at the University of California, Berkeley.[2] He is the Associate Director of the Haas Institute for a Fair and Inclusive Society.[3] Omi is best known for developing the theory of racial formation along with Howard Winant.
