In this Spanish name, the first or paternal surname is Mariné and the second or maternal family name is Montes.
Jaime Mariné y Montes was a Cuban baseball administrator and soldier. He is best known as the second president of the International Baseball Federation (IBF) from 1940 to 1943.[2] Mariné, nicknamed "El Catalancito,"[3] was also a close associate of Cuban dictator Fulgencio Batista.[4]
