The film received negative reviews from critics, who criticized the screenplay, plot, Stallone's limited screen time, direction, some of the new characters and visual effects, but praised Statham’s performance and action sequences. It was nominated for seven Golden Raspberry Awards, winning two, for Worst Supporting Actor and Worst Supporting Actress.
