The Brookdale University Hospital and Medical Center (often called Brookdale Hospital, or Brookdale for short)[1] is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) medical services provider in the borough of Brooklyn, New York City. Brookdale's primary and secondary service areas together comprise 1 million residents.[2] It serves most of Eastern Brooklyn: Brownsville, East New York, Canarsie and East Flatbush.[3]
In 2017, it was described as "struggling."[4] In 2009 they had 'let go' 240 employees.[5]
