2013年4月26日全国广播公司宣布续订格林第三季^[1]，第三季将有22集^[1]。

2013年6月21日NBC确认第三季将于2013年10月25日开播^[8][9]。

7月11日公布了尼克僵尸化的定妆照，Jim Kouf称^[10][11]

复原后会有后续影响他将在很大程度上被改变

在7月20日的动漫展上剧组表示由于拉塞尔·霍斯比的伤尚未痊愈因此在片中也会安排相似剧情让汉克做康复治疗^[12]。
