Bay）都可以看到鯨魚。至於在開普敦的北海岸則可以看到赫氏海豚以及暗黑斑紋海豚。 8月至9月期間亦是到南非西海岸的納馬誇蘭（Namaqualand）的好時候，因為在冬季雨水滋潤後，該處的沙漠便會回復生機、並有很多野花盛放。 爵士乐、品嚐葡萄酒、開普敦的荷蘭式歷史建築等，都為城市的旅遊業注入了不少文化因素。
