Thee Silver Mt. Zion Memorial Orchestra（曾命名為A Silver Mt. Zion、The Silver Mt. Zion Memorial Orchestra & Tra-La-La Band、Thee Silver Mt. Zion Memorial Orchestra and Tra-La-La Band with Choir、Thee Silver Mountain Reveries和Thee Silver Mt. 簡介
1999年，Efrim Menuck為了紀念他死去的寵物犬，Wanda，他與Godspeed You! Black Emperor團員Sophie Trudeau和Thierry Amar在加拿大的蒙特婁組成A Silver Mt. Zion。[1]Menuck在2005年接受美國WNYC電台的訪問時表示，該樂團的團名來自一段聽錯的歌詞。[2]
與Godspeed You! Black Emperor不同，Silver Mt. Zion的音樂表達方式還包含了歌詞。對於歌詞的重要性，Menuck在2006年曾說：「伊拉克戰爭前我們[Godspeed You! Black Emperor]正在進行我們上一次的環美演唱會，在戰發時我們也還在環美的途中。而當時在一個沒有語言並只低頭努力的樂團，我們覺得我們做的並不足夠。在某個段落我們到了一個需要語言的時間，這就是我目前所在的位置。」[1] 從2000年的首張專輯開始，Silver Mt.
