鳳，又叫做鳳凰（鳳係公，凰係乸），係唐人吉祥大雀，係神話動物來嘅。
傳說話鳳凰降臨，嗰處就政治清明。佢有百鳥之王之稱。根據殷商甲骨文所示，「鳳」源自「風」。
英人來華時，鳳類似西方神雀不死鳥，不死鳥浴火重生。所以，鳳就時時借英文名Phoenix來繙，兩者時時混用，不死鳥亦叫火鳳凰。不過，兩隻雀查實都無關係。
