金塔係放先人骨（即係骨殖）嘅罌。啲骨係先人入土為安之後，經過天然腐化後剩低啲骨，而啲骨會執返出來，放入去金塔度俾人供奉。要執骨入塔，主要係為因為風水或者地唔夠用要遷葬，而放入金塔裏面就可以方便搬走。
