Lance Formation

些鯊魚和魟魚的牙齒也在地獄溪的河床上被找到，說明有些物種對淡水的耐受度從那時就有。蘭斯階（英语：Lancian），命名自蘭斯層（英语：Lance Formation），的生物在系統發育學上要比坎帕階的北美物種更接近東亞及加拿大/阿拉斯加的動物相。地獄溪層也找到了一些被琥珀包裹住的昆蟲。
