Google Chat

Google Chat是Google開發的一款通訊軟體，允許一對一聊天和群組聊天。Google將其視為Google Hangouts的替代者^[1][2][3][4]。該款軟體最初名為Hangouts Chat，2020年4月更名為Google Chat^[5]。

Google Chat最初只適用於Google Workspace使用者。^[6]2021年起，Google Chat向所有使用者開放^[7]。Google Chat有管理員功能，這表示建立聊天室者能幾乎掌控聊天室。使用者必須透過Google Workspace帳戶使用Google Chat，才能編輯或刪除Chat訊息。^[8]

Google計劃在2022年初棄用Google 環聊，並用Google Chat取代。^[9]

Google Chat的舊稱為Hangouts Chat。在與Hangouts Meet一同更名之後，Hangouts品牌從 Google Workspace中移除。

2021年8月，Google開始自動登出iOS和Android上的Google環聊使用者，並通知他們切換到Google Chat。^[10]
