中央政府，或稱國家政府，簡稱中央或中樞，是國家的政府，通常作用為負責全國事務，如起草國家憲法和適用全國的法律、負責國防、外交以及代表本國和其他國家簽署條約等。聯邦制國家的中央政府，即稱「聯邦政府」。另相對中央政府而言，則是地方政府，簡稱「地方」。
