退伍軍人

退伍軍人指服完常備役或預備役之後，退伍離開軍隊，恢復一般公民身份，至社會工作的人。

在中華民國服現役滿10年以上退伍者又稱為榮民。

其他語言詞源

英語：Veteran，字根源自於拉丁語：vetus，即「老」的意思。

在韓語中，參加過特定戰事的退伍軍人（如各國的韓戰、越戰、八年抗戰老兵）亦特別稱作參戰勇士（참전 용사）。
