八仙暗沙位於南沙群島曾母暗沙西南約4海里，最淺處水深23.8米。西方文獻一般稱為「Parsons shoal」。根據中華人民共和國國務院（82）國函字280號文《國務院關於南海諸島地名命名、更名方案的復函》中的要求，八仙暗沙的地名暫不公布，也不公開引用和對外提供。[1]
