歷史
該域最初由馬里電信公司Sotelma管理。在2009年Sotelma私有化之後，IANA將.ml域重新授權給馬里政府的信息和通訊技術局（AGETIC），該流程於2013年完成[4]。之後該局宣布免費提供.ml域供所有人註冊，以推動馬里IT行業的發展。馬里也因此成為第一個免費提供域名的非洲國家[5][6][7][8]。
