楔形文字數字和標點

楔形文字數字和標點是一個位於第一輔助平面的Unicode區塊，收錄了楔形文字中的數字符號與標點符號。楔形文字偶爾會使用少量的符號來表示表示分詞或重複等情況。另外，有時楔形文字數字會與普通的字同形，但兩者在Unicode中會被視為不同的字元。^[3]

提案

2004年6月，兩位楔形文字學者與一位經驗豐富的Unicode提案作者合作，提交了對楔形文字進行Unicode編碼的最終提案。基本字元目錄來自於加州大學洛杉磯分校楔形文字數字圖書館計劃（英語：Cuneiform Digital Library Initiative）根據Miguel Civil、Rykle Borger和Robert Englund的目錄編制的Ur III符號列表。提案沒有選擇按照字形的形狀和複雜程度直接排序，而是根據現有目錄的編號，以蘇美爾語轉寫的拉丁字母順序作爲Unicode字形順序的實際近似值。^[4]
