普世欢腾

《普世欢腾》（或：普天同庆，英语：Joy to the World）是最著名的圣诞颂歌之一，歌词于1719年由英国公理会牧师、诗人以撒·华兹根据旧约圣经的《诗篇》第98章所创作^[1]。关于作曲有两个版本，早期的版本源自于格奥尔格·弗里德里希·亨德尔的清唱剧《弥赛亚》第33节中的“抬起你们的头”（Lift up your heads），歌词取自旧约圣经的《诗篇》第24章第7节至第10节^[2]；现在普遍流行的版本是19世纪的美国银行家和宗教作曲家洛厄尔·梅森（英语：Lowell Mason）根据亨德尔的“弥赛亚合唱第33节（英语：Messiah Part II#Scene 3）”乐曲风格，于1848年为《普世欢腾》重新谱写的乐曲^[3][4]，这首经过改编后的乐曲除了每逢圣诞节期间广为流传之外，在基督教教会（包括天主教和新教）中也经常用作教会的唱诗音乐。
