European City of the Reformation

2017年，欧洲新教教会社区（英语：Communion of Protestant Churches in Europe）正式授予伯尔尼“欧洲改革之城（英语：European City of the Reformation）”的称号（瑞士共有10个城市入选）。

宗教改革（拉丁語：Reformatio，德語：Reformation）是指天主教會在16世纪至17世纪的教派分裂及改革運動，也是新教形成的開端，主要由馬丁·路德、加爾文、慈運理、亨利八世等神學家與政治領袖发起。1517年，路德发表的《九十五条论纲》引发了宗教改革的开始，即德意志宗教改革。
