降低成本

降低成本、砍成本（cost reduction或lower the cost），是组织降低其成本的行为。降低成本的目的可能是为了提升其利润，不过也有可能是因定价策略或客户要求降价，因此需降低成本^[1]。依照公司的服务及产品不同，其降低成本的策略也会有所不同。在新产品开发中的每一个决定都会影响成本。

公司若推出全新的，没有竞争者的新产品时，不会太考虑成本。但若竞争者增加，价格成为市场上各产品的主要差异时，成本就会成为主要的考量。

公共部门的降低成本方案常用在收入减少的时期，或是要降低债务^[2]。

• 作业成本法（ABC），依照实际的消费，为每个产品的生产及运送的活动都设定成本，其中也包括一些间接成本的分担。Peter Turney在1989年的一篇文章中说明在往卓越制造（manufacturing excellence）的目标前进时，作业成本法的角色，同时也提供了管理阶层需要的产品成本资讯^[3]。
