大都市统计区

大都市统计区（英语：United States Metropolitan Statistical Areas，简称MSA），又称都会统计区、都会统计地区，是在美国核心都市人口密度相对较高，和地区全体经济有密切关系的地理区域。这些地区并没有法律地位，由美国人口普查局和其他联邦政府机构出于统计目的使用^[1]。核心都市区域人口超过5万人的，可被定为大都市统计区^[2]。有些相邻的大都市统计区被合称为联合统计区（Combined Statistical Area，CSA）。人口多于1万但少于5万的，则是小都会统计区（United States Micropolitan Statistical Areas，µSA）。
