迈克尔·约瑟夫·瑞安 [1](英语:Michael J. Ryan,1965年—)是爱尔兰前创伤外科医师和现流行病学家,长期在世界卫生组织任职[2][3]。

早年生活和教育
瑞安在爱尔兰国立大学戈尔韦分校接受医学训练,[1]在苏格兰接受骨科培训,并在都柏林大学学院获得硕士学位。[2][5]
1990年7月,瑞安与女友移居伊拉克,为当地医生提供培训。不久伊拉克入侵科威特,在此期间瑞安因车祸导致椎骨骨折。[1][6]最终瑞恩和他的妻子离开伊拉克。瑞安的背部伤势使他无法担任外科医生,于是他转向关注公共卫生和传染病领域。[3][7]
1996年,瑞安加入世界卫生组织,从事应对流行病和传染病工作。[1][2]2001年,瑞安来到乌干达,负责应对当地埃博拉疫情。[8]2005年至2011年,瑞安担任世卫组织全球警报和响应行动主任。[2]
2011年,瑞安离开世卫组织,返回爱尔兰戈尔韦,参与全球消灭脊灰行动(GPEI)的工作,直到2017年他再度返回世卫组织。[1][3]
2019年,瑞安担任世界卫生组织紧急医疗计划的执行主任。[2][9]瑞安在2019冠状病毒病疫情期间领导团队应对疫情。[2][3]
个人生活
1988年,瑞安结识了玛丽·康诺利(Máire Connolly)。他们于1997年结婚。[10] 康诺利是爱尔兰国立戈尔韦大学的健康安全和传染病教授,[11]还曾在世界卫生组织工作过。[1][8][12]他们共有三个孩子。
