RISUG(英语:RISUG)英文全名是Reversible inhibition of sperm under guidance,手术方式是将溶于二甲基亚砜内的苯乙烯马来酸酐(英语:styrene maleic anhydride)聚合物凝胶注射到输精管中。聚合物本身有正电荷,当带有负电荷的精子经过时,电位差会破坏精子[5]。若要恢复生育能力,可以再进行一次注射,会洗去聚合物凝胶,即可恢复生育能力。截至2011年 (2011-Missing required parameter 1=month!)[update],已在印度进行针对病患的Ⅲ期临床试验,在美国、印度、中国及孟加拉都已申请专利。Vasalgel(英语:Vasalgel)是一个聚合物凝胶注射的厂牌名称,正在美国进行试验,已经完成兔子的试验,初期试验的结果都良好,因此预计在2015年进行人类的临床试验[50]。
输精管阻塞法(英语:Vas-occlusive contraception)包括一些让二条输精管部分阻塞或是完全阻塞的手术,和输精管切除术切除部分输精管的作法不同,但目的都是使精子无法通过。输精管内装置(intra vas device,IVD)及其他注射栓塞是暂时性的阻塞输精管,若进行手术将阻塞物取出,即可恢复生育能力。美国食品药品监督管理局(FDA)已核可2006年输精管内装置的人体临床试验[51]。

也有避孕是用超声波杀死精子来进行的,概念来自1970年代Mostafa S. Fahim发现超声波会杀死微生物,且会降低精子受孕能力,其用在人类避孕的安全性及有效性仍在研究中[52]。到2012年为止,有针对大鼠进行的实验,大鼠在温盐浴中进行二次各15分钟的超声波处理,二次处理之间隔了二天,结果将其精子量降到可受孕的水平之下[6][52]。另一个小型研究是和狗有关,在进行三次超声波后,狗射精时精液中已没有精子[5]。有许多进一步的研究,包括对人是否有效、效果可持续的程度,以及其安全性,都还要再进行探讨[52]。
