弓蟹科

弓蟹科（Varunidae）是十足目短尾下目（螃蟹）胸孔亚派的其中一个科。过往弓蟹科物种在整个方蟹总科内的分类都比较混乱，因此现时正进行修订。长久以来，本科的物种被归为方蟹科之下的一个亚科，但现时发现原来牠们跟沙蟹总科之下的大眼蟹科（Macrophthalmidae Dana, 1851）及和尚蟹科（Mictyridae Dana, 1851）更为接近。因此，有建议把方蟹总科合并至历史较为悠久的沙蟹总科内^[2]。

然而，修订后的方蟹总科依然是一个并系群，而且还有不少分类成员都需要再研究。现时，已有多个原属方蟹科的属被移往新的弓蟹科，也有部分仍然需要研究的物种资料也移到本科。当中最为有名的物种，首推中华绒螯蟹（即大闸蟹，学名：Eriocheir sinensis）^[2]。怪方蟹属（Xenograpsus）本来亦是弓蟹科的成员，但现时已独立出来成立怪方蟹科（Xenograpsidae）^[1]。
