威廉·埃蒂

威廉·埃蒂RA（英语：William Etty，1787年3月10日—1849年11月13日）是英格兰画家，以其历史画闻名，是英国首个重要的裸体画和静物画画家。他生于约克，12岁时离开学校在赫尔当印刷学徒。结束7年的学徒工作之后去了伦敦，在那于1807年进入皇家艺术研究院学校，跟随托马斯·劳伦斯学习，用复制其他艺术家的作品的方式得到训练。埃蒂因其绘画呈现出逼真的肌肤色在皇家艺术研究院得到尊重，但他在伦敦的前期没有得到什么重要的成功。

背景

Sir Watkin Williams-Wynn and his mother Frances Shack­erley，约书亚·雷诺兹，约 1768–69  1768–69。在19世纪早期，雷诺兹的风格影响了英格兰艺术。
