2021年2月，吉娜于社群媒体Instagram贴文，暗示今日作为共和党人就如同在纳粹时期生为犹太人。
贴文一出，引发与论哗然。卢卡斯影业立即发出申明，表示：“卢卡斯影业目前已停止聘用吉娜·卡拉诺，也没有未来相关合作计划”，“她（吉娜）利用贴文来诋毁他人文化和宗教，令人无法接受”。由于贴文争议，吉娜已从Disney+影集曼达洛人的演员名单删除[1]。
