泰山摩崖石刻在泰山及其周围留存遗迹非常多，著名的有刻于南北清朝朝时期的经石峪《金刚经》，经文刻在约三千平方米的大石坪上，隶书，原有2500多字，现尚存1067个。字大达半米，笔力刚健有力，历代尊为“大字鼻祖”、“榜书之宗”，是泰山佛教文化的瑰宝。此外还有在岱顶大观峰崖壁上立于唐玄宗开元十四年由唐玄宗御制御书的《纪泰山铭》摩崖石刻等。
