死亡丧钟

此条目介绍的是为死亡的教徒举行宗教仪式时敲响的钟。关于丧钟的其他含义，请见“丧钟 (消歧义)”。

死亡丧钟（英语：Death Knell）是教堂里在有人去世后敲响的三次钟中的第二次。以英国来说，它前面一个为Passing Bell（临终之钟）^[1][2]，在临死时敲响；后面一个为Lych Bell或Corpse Bell（葬礼之钟），在举行葬礼时敲响^[3][4]，后者也就是今日丧礼中的丧钟。按19世纪时的传统，死亡丧钟要在牧师得知信徒逝世后马上敲响。但是若此时已经入夜，那么则在第二天一早敲整整一小时的死亡丧钟。^{[5] [6]}
