这种多年生草本植物的淡红色茎通常简单、直立、光滑，高0.5—2.5米（11⁄2—8英尺），有分散的互生叶。 叶子呈螺旋状排列，完整，狭披针形，羽状脉，次生叶脉网状，连接在一起，在叶缘内侧形成连续的边缘脉。[1]:NQ
