Younghoon和Taeyoung曾是男子組合Seven O'Clock的成員。
9月2日，他們的團體標誌「Black Leval」被曝光，後來更新為「Black Level」。據透露，該組合將包括Seven O'clock成員Taeyoung和Younghoon。9月18日，公開了集體頭像，次日公開了個人頭像以及姓名。
11月20日，他們公開Stray Kids的《Domino》Cover影音。[1]
12月23日，Chanha透過Instagram宣佈因健康原因退出組合。
1月13日，他們發起了一項新星籌資活動，以支持他們計劃在2月首次亮相。[2]
