Atmospheric escape

态巨行星的大气成分都与太阳星云相似（多为氢气、氦气和简单氢化物，如甲烷、水蒸气和氨气），而类地行星和冰巨行星则会因为大气逃逸（英语：atmospheric escape）、地质释气、撞击事件和凝结作用而产生不同成分。许多行星会因大气层局部温度高低产生的气压差而出现各种风暴和高速气流，且都会因为散射不同光谱而展现出不同的颜色。
