霞凝區，原湖南省望城縣縣轄區，1995年長沙地區撤區並鄉時撤銷。「霞凝區」位於望城縣東南部湘江以東，撤銷以前轄有原橋驛鄉（橋驛鎮）、楊橋鄉、黑麋峰鄉、丁字鄉、丁字鎮、霞凝鄉（今新港鎮）和書堂鄉7鄉鎮，亦即今橋驛鎮、丁字鎮和新港鎮建鎮之初之全境範圍。
