氾騰舉孝廉，擔任郎中。天下兵亂，辭官還家。太守張閟造訪他，閉門不見，禮物一無所受。嘆道：「生於亂世，貴而能貧，乃可以免。」散家財五十萬，施給宗族，柴門灌園，彈琴讀書。張軌徵召他為府司馬，氾騰推辭。後來病了兩個多月去世。
